On wings of light
a Soul flies free—
released with love,
returned to Thee.A soft goodbye,
a gentle sigh, as
grieving hearts
stretch open wide.The body fades,
but Love lives on—
the Soul’s bright essence
burning strong.
There are moments in life when hearts speak louder than words. Simple moments. Complex moments. When we lose someone. When we love deeply. In the between.
A dear friend said goodbye to her beloved husband this week. It was a long goodbye, made more complicated by the slow unweaving of Alzheimer’s; so many layers of letting go.
While his passing brought sorrow, it has also been infused with tender grace. A softening of the soul’s return. A time of grief and gratitude, regret and relief.
In this liminal space, it’s good to remember that letting go is not a one-time act, but a practice—the sacred art of embracing the eternal while releasing what is now timed to leave.
The essence of letting go is loving what IS without holding on to what WAS.
It is trusting that what is leaving is not lost, but simply changing form.
If you are standing at the edge of goodbye—losing a loved one, moving into a new season of life, releasing a part of you that is no longer vital, or just cleaning out your excess—consider this:
Letting go is not an end,
but rather a return
to essence.
Let Wings of Light carry you
across the threshold
to the New.

*The following meditation started as a personal inquiry into what might be beneath my body’s recurring episode of bronchitis. I was guided to use the lungs to release any stored grief that might be beneath the physical symptoms. It’s a beautiful offering that is helping me release layers of stored energy. May it support you too…
A Breath of Life Meditation
Sit quietly with the memory of someone (or something) you are holding.
Place your hands on your heart.Listen as you allow yourself to be breathed, inviting your lungs to be wings for your heart.
Breathe.
Breathe, beloved.
